Q&A
MP virtual cards in Vietnam: scope and limits
This page explains when to use an MP virtual card and when local wallets or Vietnamese bank cards are enough. No approval-rate promises, no US BIN guarantees, no cash-out advice.
TL;DR
- This is an information page for Vietnam, not a bank or card issuer.
- All card opening, verification and management is done in the MPChat App.
- Deposit USDC/USDT into MP Wallet in the App, then activate the MP Card to use for online payments.
- ChatGPT.com in Vietnam now supports MoMo for Go/Plus/Pro plans — try MoMo before you need a card.
This site and the MP Card
Is this site a bank or card issuer?
No. This is a content site for the Vietnam region. It is not a Vietnamese bank and not a payment intermediary licensed by the SBV. The MP Card is issued by MP Card as described at mp.net/card and help.mp.net.
Do I need to register an account on this website?
No. This site has no login or shopping cart. All card opening, verification and card management are done in the MPChat App.
What steps are involved in opening an MP virtual card?
According to the official instructions: download and register for MPChat; complete identity verification in the app; deposit supported stablecoins (USDC/USDT) into the MP Wallet; then enable the MP Card in the App. Verification time depends on the data you provide — this site does not promise any card issuance time.
What the MP Card can do
How are virtual and physical cards different?
The MP virtual card is an instant card for online payments. The physical card is used in stores and at ATMs. Both are managed in the MP App.
Do I need to deposit crypto first?
Yes. According to the official process, you deposit USDC/USDT into the MP Wallet in the App and then activate the card. When you spend, the supported assets are automatically converted to the local currency.
Can I lock the card or adjust limits?
Yes. In the MP App you can manage spending limits, lock the card and receive instant transaction notifications.
Where can I see fees and limits?
See them in the MPChat App — fees are shown as of the actual time. This site does not list prices and does not copy fee tables from forums. Official information is at help.mp.net.
Comparison with payment methods in Vietnam
Can a domestic Napas card replace an MP virtual card?
Not exactly. A domestic Napas card is good for Vietnamese websites, but many international gateways do not accept domestic BINs, and a Napas card is not an international card. When paying for foreign services, an MP virtual card is an option to consider.
Can MoMo / ZaloPay pay for ChatGPT and Claude?
OpenAI Help states that MoMo is supported for the Go/Plus/Pro plans on chatgpt.com in Vietnam. However, Claude still only accepts cards; MoMo/ZaloPay cannot fill in Claude's card form, many ad accounts, or a US Apple ID.
What problems do Vietnamese Visa/Mastercard cards have with international payments?
They may be blocked by gateways based on BIN, lack 3DS, or not match the payment country — especially with US Apple IDs and ad accounts. This is why many people use an MP virtual card for these cases.
I often use MoMo to pay for Claude. Is there a way?
Claude still only accepts cards. MoMo/e-wallets cannot fill in Claude's card form. You need an MP virtual card or another international card to pay for Claude Pro from Vietnam.
Common situations
I want to use a virtual card to pay for ChatGPT. Where should I start?
If you are in Vietnam and use chatgpt.com, try MoMo first for the Go/Plus/Pro plans — OpenAI Help confirms MoMo is supported. If you need a card (for example, paying via card form or other services), an MP virtual card is an option.
Can a US Apple ID use a Vietnamese card?
Vietnamese Visa/Mastercard cards may be declined because the payment country does not match. With a US Apple ID, the payment country matters more than the limit. An MP virtual card lets you control limits and lock the card in the App, but does not guarantee Apple will accept it — this site does not promise approval rates.
Which card should I use for Facebook/TikTok ads?
Keep an ad card separate from your salary or main spending card. An MP virtual card lets you create a separate card, set limits and lock it when needed — suitable for controlling ad budgets. There is no guarantee the card will be approved for every ad account.
Can I use the MP Card to withdraw cash?
Cash-out is not recommended and we do not provide guidance on it. The MP Card is for lawful spending, service subscriptions and ad top-ups.
If I deposit USDC/USDT in the App and then use the card, is that a crypto payment at the merchant?
No. You deposit USDC/USDT into the MP Wallet in the App; when you pay, the system converts it to the local currency. The merchant receives a normal payment, not crypto directly.
Verification and safety
Do I need identity verification to open an MP Card?
Yes. The official process includes completing identity verification in the MPChat App. This site cannot verify on your behalf and does not promise any result.
How long does it take for the card to work?
The time depends on completing verification and depositing funds. This site does not say 'card in 3 minutes' or make any specific time commitment.
Should I trust posts promising fast card approval or skipping verification?
No. These are unverifiable claims and do not match the official process. All information about the MP Card should be checked against mp.net/card and help.mp.net.
